Yes, we all know that word effects us all....

Humidity is one of the biggest challenges lash artists face. Even when you think you have mastered the art of Lash Artistry a winter chill hits that day and your beautiful lash work is effected. I get it. Its not as easy as it looks to get perfect....

Whats best:

The optimal humidity for all adhesives is around 45-65%. Some adhesives are best to work with at 45 %, while others are best to work closer to the 65% humidity mark. So, it is always best that your store always stocks a wide variety of humidity to ensure you use the correct adhesive for the session. Our store stocks and provides a series of selection for you to choose from, from our TLBB Lash pro series which work best with limited humidity to our TLBBMax adhesives which works best in higher humidity.

Tricks to handle humidity and your adhesive:

Adhesive generally becomes less effective in high humidities when care is not up to standard. So, how best to care for your adhesives:

  • keep the glue fresh by containing it in the airtight pouch if not in the fridge

  • add a rice grain in the pouch to absorb the moisture away to help maintain the humidity

  • the rice should be changed periodically ensuring same and better results

  • only use adhesive for the suggested timeframe from the supplier

  • the older the adhesive to more polymerization making it bad for consistency and worsening of retention

  • always have your adhesive bottle at 90 degrees, this will ensure no glue goes back into the cap

  • always ensure the lid is closed after the application

  • always place your adhesive in the fridge at the end of day

  • remove adhesive from fridge 30 min before you start lashing that day

  • always ensure you don't clog the lid, clean the lid each time after use

  • ensure no build up of adhesive starts

  • use the opened bottle no more than up to 3 months after opening or timeframe advised by the supplier

  • always work in ideal temperatures

  • if your in salon that uses dyers and temperature changes throughout the day ensure you have a humidity checker next to you and adjust the work space setting before you open the adhesive

  • always keep the adhesive fresh

  • if you are traveling with the adhesive a new site will effect the adhesive with the climate changes don't open until you arrive and store in your lash bag until usage
